London, May 28. Consols are § higher than yesterday, and to-day's price is 100$. New Zealand securities are without quotable change.
The bank rate of discount is 2 per cent, and the market rate |-. The total reserve in notes aad bullion in the Bank of England is L 18,400,000, an increase of L 500,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is now 52 per cent,

Sydney, May 29.
The sculling match, for LIOO aside, bet veen N. Matterson and Messenger, took place to-day on the Parramatt* river, and resulted in the defeat of Messenger. Matterson led from start to finish, and won easily.
Teneriffe, May 25. Tbe New Zealand Shipping compan's Bimutaka sailed this morning for New Zealand, calling at the Cape of Good Hope.

Wheat, ex store, steady at 3s 9d to 3a lOd; Adelaide flour, town brands, L7ssto L 7 10s. In freights to London there is no quotable change, and charters remain at 30s.
