HOKITIKA. September 26.
Mr Justico Richmond opened tho sittings of tho Supreme Court here to-day. There waa only one caso on the calendar — a charge of murder of ono John Bell against David Chat-loa M'Gahey. Hia Honor congratulated the grand jury on tho lightness of the calendar, which spoke a good deal for the settled, sober, and industrious nature of the population. Seven witnesses were examined to-day, and the case will be concluded to morrow night. Mr South prosecuted, and Mr Guinness defended M'Gahoy. Thore is a considerable amount of civil business or. the list.
