Melbourne, Jan. 26. It has been decided that the Exhibition shall remain open to the 30th April next. A company is being formed to purchase Mango Island in Fiji group. The capital will be L.1,000,000. Evening. A serious railway accident occurred to-day on the line, near Bnllarat, by which seven persons have been badly injured. London, Jan. 25. Consols have advanced to 9|. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, is now quoted at 50s, being a decline of 6d on yesterday's price. New Zealand Five per Cents, have suffered a decline of | to 1 per cent., and are now quoted as follows : 10-40 Loan, 102 ; 1889 Loan, 107£. The trial of the L<*nd Leaguers was conceded to-day. After the judge's ch.vge to the jury, the latter retired, but after eight hours' deliberation they were unable to a»ree, and were then discharged. Mr Parnell subsequently delivered an oration to a large assemblage of people in Dublin. January 26. In the House of Commons last evening, Mr Gladstone moved that consideration of the Irish Coercion Bill should take precedence of other business. The Home Rulers thereupon proceeded to obstruct the passage of the motion, and a stormy scene occurred. Mr Biggar, who proved one of the most violent obstructors, was repeatedly called to order by the Speaker, and as he continued his disorderly conduct, he was " suspended " for the remainder of the sitting. The debate has now lasted many hours, but Government are determined to pass the motion, and will make the sitting a continuous one, declining to adjourn until they gain their point. Renewed rioting has occurred in Lancashire, owing to the strike, and several serious collisions have taken place between tbe looked-out miners and the police.
