MESSRS J. T. FORD ft CO. have received instruction* from J. R. Street, Esq., as attorney for Mr Frederick Tooth, to submit to publio auction on TUESDAY, Bth APRIL NEXT— The following Valuable FREEHOLD and LEASEHOLD PROPERTIES, known as the ALFORD AND CLENT HILLS STATIONB, and situated in the Ashburton County, Provincial District of Canterbury.

The Alford Station comprise* about 10,500 Acres of Freehold Land, and about 3500 Acres Leasehold, which, for the convenience of purchasers, will be divided into lots aa follow*, namely — LOTI.

The ALFORD HOMESTEAD, contains about 2251 Acres Freehold and 387 acres Leasehold, ring-fenced and divided into 17 paddocks. The buildings consist of a commodious dwelling • house, men's house, shearers' hut, large wool-shed, stable, yards, and all necessary conveniences.

LOT 2. 515 Acres Freehold, fenced and subdivided into three paddocks ; all under cultivation. LOTS.

564 Acres Freehold, partly fenced and cultivated. LOT 4.

2244 Acres Freehold, Native grass land, partly fenced.

LOT 5. 1911 Acres Freehold, Native grass .land, partly fenced.

LOT 7. 238 Acres Freehold, Native grass land, partly fenced. The goodwill of a Reserve of 1000 acres adjoining this block, subject to Government rent, would be given with it.

974 Acres Freehold, Native grass land, partly fenced. Attached to this lot are about 1274 acres of Government land, which would be given in with it. LOT 9.

90 Acres, Native grasft land, partly fenced. 900 acres of Government land adjoining this lot will be given in with it.

Each bock of freehold has frontage on the rivet* AbhbiiTuO", and Nos. 1, 2, and 3 are also \ ■ .teved by creeks, and are besides largely i nprovsd. The land is of good quality, quite level, and easily worked. The Rakaia and Ashburton Folks Railway will pass through the property, and each lot has frontage on roads already formed and metalled. It is also within easy distance of Alford Forest, where

plentiful supplies of building, fencing material, and fuel can be obtained at chief rates. The Auctioneer* invite the attention of agriculturists, and others, to these Properties, knowing that the laud will bear inspection. Terms of payment will be made very easy, and at a low rate of inteieat.

THE CLENT HILLS STATION, UPPER ASHBURTON,

Comprises 45,000 ACRRS, or thereabouts, of first-class Sheep Country, with 16,000 SHEEP. Is fenced and divided into 12 Paddock*. The buildings comprise a well-built DWELLING-HOUSEofninerooms, with offices, men's house, shearers' do, two stables, large woolshed for 16 shearers, with holding-room for 800 sheep, with a building attached for pressing and the storage of wool. There is also a smithy, cow-shed, and large stock-yard. The sheep comprise about 19,000 merinos and 40,000 croas-bred sheep of mixed ages and sexes ; 2000 only of them are full-mouthed.

The Clent Hills run is purely pastoral country, held under Government lease, with the exception of 20 acres of freehold covering a seam of coal adjacent to the homestead. The fences, buildings, and yards are in good repair. We shall be open to treat privately for this property up to March 25, and, if not so disposed of, will be submitted to auction immediately alter the sale of the freehold, at the Fame time and place.
