Young Farmers’ Club

About 40 members of the Kaitaia Young Farmers’ Club gathered in the Council Chambers last evening to hear a most interesting and informative address by Mr. E. H. Arnold, Superintendent of the Field Division of the Department of Agriculture. “Supplementary Feeding” was Mr. Arnold’s subject, and as Chairman of the experimental farm at Dargaville, it was obvious that he was talking ! fiom practical experience. J During supper, at the conclusion of | the address, an enthusiastic audience j showered Mr. Arnold with questions. I A most interesting discussion con- ! tinued until the chairman, Mr. L. G. Dixon, had to call a halt at 11.30 p.m. Mention was made during the even- ; ing of the amazing growth of the j Kaitaia Club. Starting with a memj bership of 12 in June last, the present I numbers stood at 74. It was decided that the Club would support the formation of a district ! committee. A letter from the Director of the Stock Division of the Department of j Agriculture expressed regret that Mr. W. Stringer’s term of office in the Kaitaia district could not be extended. This was in reply to a letter from the Young Farmers’ Club requesting that Mr. Stringer be retained in the district.
