Personal Mr. and Mrs. C. Cooper who ha\ been on a short stay in Whangarc have returned home. Soft Ball Match Postponed Owing to the unfavourable weathi or. Saturday the soft ball match thi was to be played, was postponed ui til a later date. Tennis Club Dance A Tennis Club dance w-as held the Kaingaroa Hall last Friday nigh the hall being packed to capacity. T 1 decorations consisted of lilies ar ferns and were arranged very nicel Mr. P. Feely was m.c. After a tasty supper had been ser l ed, Master R. Waitohi rendered a son entitled “I’m Making Believe”) fo lowed by a Maori haka by Mr. < Rapanua, which delighted the auc ence. Both boys received a great ovi tion as they left the stage. Competitions were won by Mr. J Waitohi (two fowls) and Mr. J. Rii dley (honey dishes). The pianist wi Mrs. L. White, and her music wi enjoyed by.all. Dancing continued until the ear hours of the morning.
KAITAIA R.S.A. SOCIAL CLUB There was a fine muster of returned men present at last Saturday evening’s social when the executive of the Kaitaia Bowling Club were entertained. An enjoyable evening of indoor bowls was spent with the visitors adding a distinctive bowling flavour to the evening with their characteristic terms, poses and rules. Mr. D. Hanlon spoke on behalf of the bowling club and Mr. A. Rae replied. Supper was served and a most pleasant evening continued till a late hour.
