WEDDING

JAMESON MASTERS A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Saviiur’s Church, Kaitaia, on Thursday, May 16th, when Norma Maud, older /daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Masters of Takahue, was joined in holy matrimony to Ashton Clarence, Second son of Mr. and Mrs. L>. Jameson of Kaitaia. The officiating minister was the Rev. G O. Adams, and the organist Mrs Rule who also sang a solo during the signing of the register. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in an exquisite frock of white cloque. It was cut on sliV fitting lines with a long waist mid full skirt. Cornelli embroidery' and tiny loops adorned the | neckline, round the waist, and down 1 the front. The long train was sim- ! ilarly embroidered. A row of tiny buttons trimmed the back from neck to waist, beautiful tulle veil was caught with a novel topknot a white dove in a nest of orange blossom. The bouquet, from which hung a white horseshoe, trimmed w r ith orange blossom, was of white chrysanthemums, white roses and orange blossom. Attending the bride were her sis- | ter, Miss Nancy Masters, and Miss j Rae Jameson, sister of the bride- i groom, as bridesmaids and two little flowergirls, Miss Marie Wright and Miss Beverley Irving. They wore frocks of pink and blue cloque respectively, made on lines similar to that of the bride. The bridesmaids had • topknots of pink nerines and del- ; phinium with pink tulle bows. The ■ flowergirls had topknots of pink spider lilies and smilax with tulle i bows. The bridesmaids carried ! shower bouquets of pink nerines and delphiniums with asparagus and ! smilax. The flowergirls carried pink muffs trimmed with spider lilies. The groom was attended by Mr. ! Varley Fliun as bestman and Mr. j Garth Cauty as groomsman. After the ceremony over 400 guests were received at the Takahue Hall by the bride’s mother, Mrs. N. Mas- ; ters. She wore a black wool crepe- j de-chine suit trimmed with white embroidery. She wore a pink hat and j carried black accessories. Her shoul- ] der spray was of pink carnations .and smilax. Mrs. Jameson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy frock with j accessories to match. Her spray was of red begonia and asparagus. Mr. ' and Mrs. Sarsfield, the bridegroom’s godparents, journeyed from Auckland to be present at the ceremony. A feature of the breakfast was the ■ three-tiered wedding cake made by Mrs. G. W T right and Mrs. Irving and iced by the bride’s mother. Mr. J. j Dawson acted as toastmaster, and musical honours were played by the Versatile orchestra. The following toastlist was honoured : The King ; The Bride and Bridegroom (Rev. G. , O. Crene Bestman read telegrams); “J” Force (Mr. R. Beazley) ; Pioneers (Mr. Dawson Mr. Bradley).; Willing Helpers (Mrs. Carr —Mr. J. Parker) ; The Minister (Mr. B. Beard Rev. G. O. Adams) ;. The Toastmaster (Mr. J. Parker Mr. Dawson). At the conclusion of the toast list, dancing was continued till an early hour to music supplied by the Versatile Orchestra. The happy couple were the recipients of many beautiful presents, including a large number of cheques. They left later to spend a honeymoon in Auckland and the south, tie bride travelling in a grey suit with black accessories. McNamara wagener The marriage of Merle Hilma, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Wagener of Pukenui, to Brian Henry, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. McNamara of Moroingside, Auck- " land, took place in the Raeo Hall, Fukenui, on the afternoon of May 11. Rev. Father Berridge of Kaitaia offi- ( ciated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly gowned in ivory satin with tiny rolled collar, V neckline ornamented with orange blossom, and princess sleeves, the bodice being decorated at the shoulders and waistline, and the softly gathered skirt ending in a sweeping train. Her silk embroidered tulle veil (lent by a friend) was held in place by a tatted halo and a spray of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses, chrysanthemums, real orange blossom and asparagus fern. The bridesmaids, Miss Aileen McNamara, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Jean Mclntosh of Kaitaia, were frocked alike in apricot silk crepe with long waists and gathered skirts, their small round hats having flowerfilled crowns and pink tulle bows. Their bouquets were in autumn tunings of chrysanthemums, roses and gerberas. The flowergirl, Betty Mikalovich, neice of the bride, wore a Victorian frock of frilled apricot silk,

nil green cap and matching mittens. She carried a horseshoe of chrysanthemums finished with an apricot ribbon. Attending the groom was his brother, Mr. A. McNamara, as bestman, and his cousin, Mr. L. McNamara, as groomsman. At the roception and dance later a large number of guests were received by Mrs. Wagener, who chose a frock of delphinium blue with shoulder spray of golden chrysanthemums and smilax, and black accessories. She was assisted by Mrs. McNamara, who wore a navy ensemble and a shoulder spray of salmon pink dahlias and lavender salvia. Toastmaster was Mr. W. J. Tynan, and much admired was the wedding cake iced by the bride’s sister, Mrs. J. Mikalovich, while the hall was beautifully decorated. When the newly-weds later left for ;he south, the bride was wearing a ky blue coat over a frock of heavy Jack silk with black accessories. " I
