kaitaia Women’s Institute

The President, Mrs. Verschaffelt, was in the chair at the meeting of the Kaitaia Women’s Institute held on Wednesday, August 11. The Social Hour was run by Mrs. Stephenson and Mrs. Goodhew, and afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Goodhew and Mrs. Foley. Mrs. Powell won the competition for “word building,” and Mrs. Wilkinson that for “Book Titles.” A gift donated by Mrs. Stevenson was won by Mrs. Gale. The Roll Call was “Cooking Hint,” and a birthday gift was presented to Mrs. Powell. The first soldier’s parcel goes to Mrs. Turner and the second to Mrs. Richter. Tht competition for September will be “Three kinds of biscuits,” and the next meeting will be run as a Federation meeting.
