Wedding
LESLIE MANDEL A pretty wedding was solemnized at the Dominion Road Methodist Church on Saturday August 7 the contracting parties being Clarice Leslie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Coulter of Fail-burns, and Sgt. Paul Mandel (United States Marine Coi-ps) only son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Mandel, Los Angeles, California. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father wore a grey wool crepe-de-chine suit trimmed with fur with matching accessories and shoulder spray. A mother-of-pearl Bible, a souvenir of Bethlehem, was also carried by the bride. Miss Nance Wells made a charming bridesmaid, wearing a blue frock with shoulder spray and accessories to tone. The best man was Warrant Officer Hines, (United States Marine Corps). The officiating Minister was the Rev. Gardiner Brown, recently returned from the Middle East. A reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Miss Wells where the usual toasts were honoured. The Bride and Groom after a short honeymoon are taking up residence in Auckland.
