Local Observer’s Time Compares Favourably Following is part of a letter reieived by Mr. C. B. Michie from, the Carter Observatory, Wellington, on the result of observations of the transit of Mercury from an observation point in Kaitaia : “Your times seem to compare very favourably with those obtained elsewhere, and they make a very useful contribution to the combined set o t observations from various parts of the country. We shall be publishing a liet as soon as all the observations come to hand and yon will i er. be able t make comparisons with -he results of other observers. There should be about 35 sets of t.vr.es ”
