Although conditions were difficult with changing light and gusty cross wind, some excellent shooting was witnessedThe cup for best score of the day was won by R. Tracey who also won the B Grade Anderson medal for the aggregate of the last throe shoots. The A Grade Anderson medal was won by C. D. Waddell. The Tracey Handicap cup was won by I. F. McKinnon. Scores for the day were as follows :

CLOTHES LINE WITH A HISTORY It isn’t often that a clothes-line has a history associated with early motoring in the Dominion, adventures in taxi-cabs, and last, but not least, connection with a one-time funeral hearse. Such however, is the case of one very fine example of a circular clothes-line which graces the backyard of a Kaitaia resident. The frame-work of the poles is prosaic enough, but the line revolves upon the wheel of an ancient Daimler which has a varied history. The Daimler was one of the first two brought to Auckland for taxicab purposes about 1908 and after being used some time was sold, finally finding its way to Kaitaia to become Jhe property of Messrs. Worth and Weber, to act as a funeral hearse. After some little service at this, a breakdown occurred and the part was not replacable and the chassis was sold for scrap. Strangely enough the engine of the twin car is still doing gallant, service in a small pleasure boat? at Christchurch. New Zealand sheep breeders are showing keen interest in the Dorset Horn breed. A Hastings farmer has imported 30 ewes and one ram, and a Canterbury breeder has imported a similar flock.
