From Our Correspondent at Waiharara
W.D.F.U. MEETING The Waiharara branch of the W.D.F.U. held their monthly meeting in the Waiharara hall on Wednesday afternoon last. The president, Mrs. Tony Yelavich, presided over a fair attendance of members. The meeting opened with the reading of the creed by Ella Steed. The minutes of the last meeting were read by the vicepresident, Mrs. Luceitich, in the absence of the secretary who was unable to attend. The prize for the best home-made scones was won by Mrs. Yelavich, and that for needlework by Mrs. A. Jackson. A copy of the book “Brave Days” (the generous donation of Mrs. Allen Bell of Sunshine Lodge, Hamilton, to the N.Z. Women’s Division) was purchased, members deciding to read it alternately. The bring and buy stall was very successful. After the Division business was transacted, afternoon tea was served by members, which brought the meeting to a close. '*■/ Purely Personal Mrs. M. Milich is the proud mother of a baby daughter.
