WAINUI - AHIPARA INSTITUTE

The meeting 0 f the Wainui-Ahipara Institute was held at Mrs. Morice’s l’esidence on Thursday last, only a few" members attending. The month’s competition, something knitted from a skein of 2-ply wool, was won by Mrs. Athol Masters with Mrs. C. Masters second. The pi’ize for the “something for nothing” competition went to Mrs. Horsford. Many competitions were held to pass the social hour. The roll call which was “a funny story,” caused much amusement. Miss E. Matthews was the guest of the afternoon at which Mrs. J. N. Bei*ghan, on behalf of the Institute members, presented her with several gifts in view of her approaching marriage. Miss Matthew’s thanked the members for their kindness and hospitality. A dainty afternoon tea brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close. The hostesses were Mi*s. J. N. Berghan, Mrs. Morice and Mrs. Athol Masters.
