FAIRBURN INSTITUTE MEETING
The April meeting of the Fairburn Women’s Institute was held in the hall on Wednesday 14. The attendance was very disappointing, very few members bteing present. Mrs. Lupton presided and welcomed two visitors. The exceed was read by Mrs. Coulter. The following are the winners for the half-yearly prizes : Thrift—-Miss Beitha Thomas and Miss Doris Thomas tied for first place ; Flowers Mesdames Dangen and Fisher tied for first place. Juniors : Dorothy Atkinson 1, and Agnes Semenoff 2. Arrangements wei-e made for the fifth birthday which will be held in the hall on the afteinoon and also in the evening of the 21st May. A continuation of the Golden Thread was given by Mrs. Foster. The roll call was “My most exciting moment,” axui mo-dhly competition.™ were for rolled oats bis uxits or a \! -vira cake, an' a ’<*- of flowers f<-' seniors, while for the juni rs !
