MEETING OF FAIRBURN INSTITUTE
The February meeting of the Fairburn Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday when Mrs. Lupton presided over a good attendance of members. A very interesting letter from Mersliain, the English Link, was read. Arrangements were made and entries chosen for the Institute exhibition in connection with tlie County Show, The roll call was eight lines of poetry learned at school, or a New Year (bought and the competitions for the day were, a house frock costing not more than 5/-, a home made medicine and a toy. Motions of sympathy were passed witli Mrs. Dangen and Mrs. J. Dawson in their recent sad bereavements. Members stood in silence in memory of late beloved sovereign Kiug George V. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the Kaiaka members, and an enjoyable meeting was closed by singing the National Anthem.
