Card Evenings
A caul evening in aid of the funds of St. John's Anglican Church, Awanui, was held at, the residence of Mrs. A. Foster last Saturday, when a most enjoyable evening was spent. The leading players were Mrs. C. Crene and Mr. M. Pivac, while the consolation awards went to Mrs. A. G. Bell and Mr. A. Matthews. The competition was won by Mr. F.|Ballantine.
The Kaitaia W.D.F.U. held a card evening on Tuesday, when there were ten tables of players. The winning players were Mesdames Frank Puckey, C. S. Puckey and W. F. Berry, while the travelling prizes went to Mrs. A. Wilkinson, Miss A. Wilkinson and Mr. D. Hudson. The consolation awards went to Mesdames S. C. Puckey and J. Hughes, and Miss O. Holder. The competitions were won by Mrs. W. Cade and Miss Holder.
