Institute Dance at Kaitaia
The Kaitaia Women’s Institute funds should benefit exceedingly as a result of their most successful dance held last night in the A. and P. Hall, Kaitaia. The perfect floor was fully occupied during the dances, the programme of which consisted of old-time and modern dances. Messrs A. Gray and Ralph Lewis acted as Ms.C., and extras were played by Miss Joyce Christensen and Messrs F. Puckey and J. Ford. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss D. Jameson and Mr. F. Parker, and the Mr. and Mrs. Prim polonaise by Mrs. H. R. Watts and Mr. F. Ballantine. Mr, H. won the turkey. Supper was served during the interlude. During the evening, the Queen candidates, Mrs. Roy Kelly and Misses M, Urlich, H. Berghan, D. Mclntosh and A. Carr, were introduced by Mr. J. T. B. Taaffe to the assembly, and the Rev. E. Blackwood Moore and Father Lockwood also spoke briefly on the objects of the Carnival.
