Women's Institute

KAITAIA The monthly meeting of the Kaitaia Women’s Institute was held in the Parish Hall, on Thursday, December 7th. /Jjhe monthly competition, “Peanut Crisps” was won by Mrs. Gray. Mrs. Rutledge secured the most points for the six months. The first Institute baby was presented with a silver mug suitably engraved. It was decided to hold future meetings in the afternoon, but no meeting will be held in January on account of the holidays. The Roll Call for next meeting (February) will he the uses of lemon and the competition “Something new from something old”. A demonstration on Impromptu speeches will be held. The winners of the competitions were : Puzzling names, Miss Short; Flowers and Plants, Mrs. B. Puckey ; Knots, Mrs. Donaldson. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames W. Parker, B. Puckey and P. Quilter.
