Mr. Patterson, publisher of the “Herald” was in Kaitaia to-day. Mrs. Cyril Foster and her sister Miss G. Gow, have returned home after spending a short holiday in Whangarei. Mr. R. La.ing, Manager of the Kaitaia branch of the Bank of Australasia, who has been aw'ay on leave, returned th e week. Mr. Noel Clifford, newly appointed secretary to the Mangonui Herd Testing Association took over his duties at the beginning of this month. Mrs. J. Johnson who has been away in Auckland on holiday, returned last week to Kaitaia, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. D. Simpson. Wo regret to state that both Mrs. M. Atkinson and her small daughter Nancy are inmates <*f the Mangonui Hospital, Both patients are progressing favourably. Mrs. D. Gow and her son, Don, motored to town last week, where Don underwent Specialists' treatment. They have now returned to their home in Totara North. Miss Rose Matthews who has been enjoying three weeks’ holiday with her mother, Mrs. Wild of Kaitaia, returned to Auckland this week to take up her duties at the Auckland Hospital.
