Women's Institute

TAKAHUE branch A meeting of the Takahue Women's Institute was held in the Hall on July 27th, thirty-two ladies being present, Mrs. H. Carr presiding. One minutes silence was observed, in memory of our late member, Mrs. S. Powell. Ihe Roll Call was “My favourite pastime, and why”. The first prize for an w article made from a yard of cretonne was won by Mrs. Swan, and the second by Mis. N. Masters, who also won the embroidered chair back. The memory competition was won by Miss M. Carr. Miss M. Thorpe gave a clever demonstration on pewter work. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdaines H. Quarterman, A. Rogers and H. Sandess. The meeting was concluded with the National Anthem.
