At Kaitaia last Saturday the competition for the Kapa Shield was decided when the Valley team, by defeating the Ahipara and Pukepoto teams, secured the trophy. Ihe Valley-Ahipara matclj was very close, Ahipara being in the lead at half time, and the Valley having only a two point margin at the finish, the score being 12—10. Kaitaia were badly defeated by Pukepoto, the score being 14 to 7. Ihe Valley team won from Pukepoto by 20 points to 8. In the last match, between Ahipara and Kaitaia, the latter were the winners by 5 points to 4. * * * * Kaeo and Totara North Basketball Clubs have recently affiliated to the North Auckland Association, and it is hoped to form a sub-Associatiou in that district next season.
