PROTEST MEETING AT BROADWOOD
The recent decision by the Transport Appeal Board to curtail the BroadwoodHerekino service was responsible this week for a large meeting of protest at Broadwood. Mr. W. Grounds was in the chair.
Speakers stated that the decision of the Appeal Board to make this service a feeder to the main road service was regarded as a great injustice to a large and growing district and the following resolution was passed:—That the restriction of the Herekino-Broadwood-Otiria service, as decided by the appeal Board, is altogether unsuitable and unacceptable and that the meeting insists upon the continuance of the service, as licensed by the No. 1 Licensing Authority, as being the least that will be acceptable.
