POLICE COURT NEWS
The following cases were heard before G. N. Morris Esq., S.M , at the Kaitaia Police Court on Fiiday of last week. There were 21 undefended ci\ iI cases. Defended civil cas s as follows —A. Yelas (Reynolds) v C. Marinovich (Kelly) dispuie over section and cost of previous court action. Claim £122 18 2.
The magistrate awarded judgment for defendant for costs amounting to £7 13 6.
W. Cameron (Kelly) v Shirley Masters (Reynolds) il.mn for wages amounting to £l6 l 3. Judgment was awarded plaintiff for £5 10 6.
Judgment Summonses
William James (Kelly) v Charles 1 atana,- senior, amount, £6 15 9, and solicitoi’s fee, 15/6, to be paid forthwith, and in default 7 days imprisonment in Kaitaia Police Gaol. Warrant suspended 7 days after service of order.
D. Evans (Kelly) v I. E. Anstis, amount, £197 6s, and solicitor’s fee £3 3s to be paid forthwith and in default I month imprisonment in Kaitaia Police Goal. Warrant suspended 30 days afier service.
Wallace Supplies (Kelly) v Cecil Harris, amount £ls 10s tod and solicitor’s fee £1 Is to be paid forthwith, and in default 14 days imprisonment in Kaitaia Police Gaol. Warrant suspended provided £3 per month is paid. First payment 18/9/31. William James (Kelly) v R. Murray, amount £8 814, and solicitors fee, 15/6, to be paid torrhwith; and in default, 7 days imprisonment in Kaitaia Gaol. Warrent suspended provided £1 per month is paid. First payment 18/9/1931. William James (Kelly) v D. Murray, amount, £3 17/11, to be paid forthwith ; and in default, 7 days imprisonment in Kaitaii Gaol. Warrent suspended provided 30/• is paid. First payment 18/9/1931. W. E. Lewisham (Kelly) v W. Job (Reynolds). No order. Criminal Cases.
Police v N. Pukeroa —This was a case of assault and the accused who had several previous charges was sentenced to two months hard labour in Mt. Eden. Police vR. Harrison—A case where the accused was charged with supplying intoxicating liquor to a native forcomsumption off licensed premises. He was fined £3 with costs amounting to 12/-. R. R. Torrie v F. Baker —The accused was charged on three different accounts —(l) That he did not possess a heavy traffic license, (2) That he did drive an unregistered vehicle, (3) That he did fail to produce a driving license. On the first charge he was fined £3 with £t 13/- costs. The second charge he was fined £1 and 12/- costs and £1 with 121costs were imposed on the last charge.
