OBITUARY
The death of the late Mr. A. 11. Logan occurred at his residlr. ;e in Kaitaia on Wednesday aiming last.
The late-Mr. Logan who was in his 75th year has been in the district for over 15 years and all who had the honour of his acquaintance cannot but help feel that the district has lost a gentleman whose sterling qualities commanded their highest respect.
Although the deceased was not a member of any of our local administrative bodies, he took a keen interest in their affairs and in him one ever found a ready supporter to any movement that aimed for the advancement of the district.
Born in Dunedin in 1855, the late Mr. Logan received his first schooling in Shaw’s Stone School in that city, his first teacher being the late Sir Robert" Stout. The late Mr. Logan held the distinction of being the first pupil at the Otago Boys’ High School and also one of the first graduates of the Otago University.
Coming to Kaitaia some fifteen years ago he entered the firm of Logan and Reynolds, Barristers and Solicitors and remained with them up to within a few days of his death. The funeral which took place last Friday was attended by a large number of business men and farmers who paid their last tributes to one who was held in high esteem throughout the district.
The internment took place at St. Saviour Churchyard Kaitaia.
