Sir Ambrose Fleming, speaking at the Imperial College of * Science, declared that television would soon bring a cricket test match, the Lord Mayor’s Show or the Varsity boat race wirelessly upon the home screen. While speaking of images of human faces being televised from the Baird Laboratory, four miles distant, Sir Ambrose made a second announcement, stating that home talkies would soon be p available. Thev would be of miniature size and would be purchased in the same way as gramor phone records. Admirers of a particular film would be able to purchase a copy for permanent entertainment.
