VALLEY SPORTS CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD. HEALTHY FINANCIAL POSITION SPORTS MEETING ON MARCH 8. The president of the Victoria Valley Athletic Sports Club Mr. J. W. Hoskin presided over an attendence of twenty at the annual general meeting held on December 14th. Several apologies were received from leading officials for non-attendance. Mr. Hoskin gave a comprehensive report on the last meeting and urged the sporting fraternity of the district to march onward to even greater success.
The financial statement showing a credit balance of over £7O was received with acclamation, It was decided to hold the next sports on March 8,1930 one week after the Kaitaia Show.
Revision of the programme was left to be dealt with by a
strong executive committee at a meeting to be held next Friday night. Pressure of other duties made it necessary for Mr. A. M. Wright to decline nomination on the Executive. This permission was most reluctantly given, several speaking in eulogistic terms of the excellent work at all times rendered by Mr. Wright in the interest ot sport.
Some alterations were made in the list of officials and the general tone of the lengthy and animated discussion on the preparation of the next meeting augurs well for March 8, and whilst posters with all details will be out early in January competitors and spectators are given timely advice to make early preparation to be there on Sports Day.
