Leader of Suffragette Movement. Pathetic Scenes at Graveside Of Late Mrs Pankhurst. (Age Special Service) Wellington this Day The funeral of the late Mrs Pankhurst world known as the leader of the suffragette movement, was largely attended at St. John’s, Westminister, London. Touching scenes were witnessed at the graveside where Misses Christabel and Sylvia Pankhurst watched the coffin being lowered, while a woman dipped to earth a large purple, green and white flag, the suffragist colours.
Wragge Institute Destroyed By Fire Loss of Curios and Astronomical Instruments (Age Special Service) Auckland this day. The Wragge Institute at Northcote was destroyed by fire last night. The fine collection of Island curios, and valuable astronomical instruments were lost.
