Ideal weather prevailed and a large crowd wa3pre f eni The hall presented a pretty scene. The various stalls were prettily decorated with coloured streamers and the dainty frocks worn by the lad? ; in charge preally enhanced the scene. The various stalls were in charge of the following ladies : Mesdames Clarke ind Foley— Produce. Mrs A Wilkinson and Miss H Masters—Novelty. Mrs L Ma-ters and C Moore — Sweets. Mrs Watts and Miss N Marla —Cake. Mrs Geard—Afternoon-tea. Mrs Perkins and Mrs Frank Puckey--Baby Show. The Baby Show took place in the afternoon and this proved a great attraction. The judges were: Dr Torrie and Matron Sullivan. The winners of the prizes are as tollows I to 3 months, Mrs M Panther I, Mrs A Saunders Lake Rd Kaitaia 2. 3 to 6 months, boys, Mrs L Morpeth I, Mrs George Foley, Kaitaia 2. 6to 12 months boys, Mrs Treacher 1, Mrs Percy Foley Kaitaia 2. 0 to 12 months girls, Mrs Timms Kaiaka I, Mrs Stan Holder Kaitaia 2. 12 to l 8 months boys, Mesdames Viv Kitchen and Malcolm Wallace equal, Mesdames Arch MacKenzie and Joe Matthews 2. 12 to l 8 months girls, Mrs L Morpeth I, Mrs Pat Dean 2. l 8 mths to 2 years boys, Desmond Edwards i, Bruce Macintosh 2. l 8 xths to 2 years girls, Patricia O’Gorman I, Dawn Rule 2. Mrs Macathy, largest family, (10 children) a fifty of flour, donated by the North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op. The twenty Xmas cakes which were on sale during the day were quick sellers and were all sold before the evening. The winner;, of the various competitions were : Iced cakes—Mrs Boswell and J Ryan. O r ange and black cushion — Miss Florence Matthews. Man’s Fugi Pyjamas—Miss I Masters. Fugi Nightdress—Mr W Lee. Chocolate Swan—Elsie Geard. Black and white cushion — Mis_ Myra Masters. Tin of biscuits—Mrs Bisset. Xmas turkey—'Mr J B Reynold' The Leg Competition proved a decided attraction, ere being II entries. Miss H Masters and Miss K Urlich were ,n the finals, Miss Masters being dt dared the V'inner after a very even contest by the judges, Messrs Hester and Bedggood. The special spin .‘if the Monte Carlo Wheel for the Ballet Girls went to Miss Vera Matthews. The evening programme was witnessed by a large Crowd. The Ballet girls attached o the Follies Revue gave their dances Eastern and Militaire and were heartily encored by the audience. The skctch.“The Winner” was a’so given and was well received Mrs Giy nan and her orchestra provided the music.
The merooers of the Association worked very hard indeed to make this venture a success, and the sum realised which amounts io £74 8s will be a means of adding further improvements to the local A & P Society’s grounds and buildings.
