French Airman Killed. Special To Age. Auckland yesterday. The Fren :h aviator, Corbu, md bis mechanic, Lacoste, crashed at Le Bourget, both being killed. M Corbu was the airman, v ho, with another French aviator M M Gtvon, set out on September 2 from the Le Bonrget Aerodrome in the biplane Blue Bird on a fruitless attempt to reach New York. They encountered a fog and returned an hour-and-a-half after taking off. Experts cons dered that thev would have faced almost certain disaster had they continued the flight.
