When Mere Man looks On.
The sight of a fair maid fashionably dressed sailing along at the wheel ot a palatial motor car is a common one in Hawke’s Buy nowadays, when women drivers quite equal in the men. No comment is raised by a car with a lady in charge but this was not so in N lpier, when a fashionably dressed woman complete even to the fur coat, proceeded down one of Napier’s main thoroughfares at the wheel ot a 4-ton lorry. With easy confidence and obvious skill she handled the rather ungainly vehicle, backing it into a landing stage with speedy despatch while a sm all coterie of nu re males stood round in wondering admiration.
