LARGE WHITE PIGS
Results are now to hand of the Prize Winnings of the mother and father of the two large white sows recently imported by Bethume Farm. The pair met wiih success at the New Zealand Royal Show recently held in Auckland, their total prize money amounting io £49. The sire’s prize list is as follows. First Prize in Meat Board’s Special for boar under 12 months. First Prize in class for boar over 8 months and under 14 months; Reserve Champion of Large Whites, in which he had to compete against three mature pigs, two of which are imported stock while this pig was only 10 months old when shown. The dam won second prize in the New Zealand Meat Board’s Special for sows over 12 months. At the present time Bethume Farm is using a Large White Boar who was imported in dam from Australia.
