Speaking in the Fairburn Hall on Septembar 13th 1934 in favour of the Farmars’ Union taking political action Mr. Geo. Wilkinson said farmers in New Zealand were not taking as keenly as they should to political action. A lot of them seemed not to have enough brains to come in cut of the rain. There were 80,000 farmers in the Dominion, meaning nearly a quarter of a million votes The farmers were despised because for want of organisation, they had no power. They were the victims of truSs on one side labour unions on the other."
