BOWLING NOTES.
(By Skip).
In a few weeks’ time the first season of the club will come to an end, and taking all things into consideration, it must be counted a very successful one. The green is certainly not perfect, but will improve as time goes on. The main feature is that the club has got going, and judging by the enthusiasm displayed up to the present, it should have many prosperous years ahead. The Singles Championship is progres ing slowly, some of the contestants finding it difficult to attend whenrequired. One match remains to be played before the 6emi-final commences. Two games were got off on Saturday last, the one between Farrimond and Northwood being a very close and interesting one. The results were: Northwood 18, Farrimond 16. Mitchell 27, Switzer 11. A match for the silver ferns between Mitchell and Mclntosh (holders) and Bidmead and Heron (challengers), resulted in a win for the latter by 21—14. Four challenges have yet to he played, and it will probably be found I difficult to get them all off before
the season closes.
