NORTH AUCKLAND LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING The usual monthly meeting of the N. >rth Auckland Land Board was comment: -d on the 12th instant. All the members of the Board were present. The Order Paper was lighter than usual, there being 68 cases on the main Land Act paper, 48 applications for advances to work soldier properties and 55 miscellaneous applications from soldiers for Ira 11s, fer, etc. The transfer of Section 17, Block XV., Takahue, H Oliver to J Hardstaff was approved, as was the transfer of Section 54, Parish of Omaha, from C S Clark to J C E Wyatt, and of Section 113, Kopuru, from executors of A West to C W West. Several other transfers were recommended for the Minister’s, favourable consideration.

D J Mcßeth was given seven days to accept the Land Board’s offer of additional area, Block X, Purua Survey District.

The application of Lucy M Godfrey for Section 227, Paremoremo was approved. M Uncovich was granted 5 years lease over part of Section 25, Mata Parish. The applications of A Arnold, A Trotter and Rapata Harera for the fee simple were approved. Mr T F Linneil was granted renewal of lease over Section 231, Kaiwaka.

The lessees of Section 228 Paremoremo Parish, were given until the end of the month to transfer or forfeit.

Mr W J Smith was given 30 days to show cause why his lease of Sections 104/5 Waipu Parish, should not bb forfeited for breach of the conditions. The applications of A G Loasby for Section 48, Remuera Settlement, W R C Hornblow for Section 5, Block XIII, Punakitere were approved. The opening of the Omannu block 2232 acres was deferred pending inspection of the Block by the Commissioner. Comment was made on the enormous cost of the proposed roading. 'Some 20 applications from soldiers and for postponement of payment of rent and interest were considered and postponements were recommended in the majority of instances. In the case of one property, however, at Wharepapa, near Helensville, the Board decided that unless the soldier had made satisfactory arrangement for the payment of his arrears steps would be taken to realise the security. The next meeting of the Board will take place on the 9th, August. ,
