MANGONUI BEACH ROAD

Complaints having been made by the Mangonui Chamber of Commerce as to the constructional work being carried out in connection with the above contract, Mr. T. S. Houston (County Chairman), Cr. L, J. Matthews, and Mr. T. R. McMullen (County Engineer), went to Mangonui on the 22nd April to inspect. After inspecting the work a meeting was held at which Mr. R. T. Wrathall and others pointed out wherein they considered that the work was defective and not in accordance with the plans and specifications. After a detailed explanation by Mr. McMullen and by Mr. jNilsson, contractor, the members of the Chamber appeared satisfied,and votes of thanks were passed to the members of the County Council present, the County Engineer, and the ’ Contractor.
