FIRE

A most disastrous fire occurred at Paranui on Monday night when the house of Mr J. Taylor was burnt to the ground. The fire, it is estimated broke out at 7 30. p.m., Mr and Mrs Taylor, were absent from home at the time, only the children being at home, luckily all made good their escape and there was no loss of life.

The house and its contents were entirely demolished, Mr and Mrs Taylor losing everything they possessed, the house was practically new consisting of a small cottage which had recently been extensively built on to. Mr and Mrs Taylor will be very heavy losers by the catastrophe, the building and furniture being covexed by only a very small insurance.
