KOHUMARU.

(From a Correspondent.) The settlers are collecting money to erect a public building in which to hold Church aervices, sociali, school, etc. ’Tis to be hoped the Post and Telephone Office will be transferred to this building when erected. All the ratepayers rolled up to record their votes on the 23rd instant, only to find to their disgust that a third of them were not enrolled. Kohumaru is still going ahead. The new settlers show the old settlers how to work, having fully 700 acres to sow in grass this season, besides houses in course of erection. Messrs Graves and Bird have started dairying, sending cream to the Oruru Factory. Next season we expect thay will have up to-date milking machines installed.
