On Saturday the weather for the football match, Britain v. Poverty Bay, was perfect and the ground in good condition. The attendance w: s estimated at 4000. Britain playing with a weak side outclassed Poverty Bay who, nevertheless, put up a splendid game, fighting to the last but the electric dashes of the British backs were too superior for tho local side’s defence. The game ended Britain 26, Poverty Bay nil.

Queensland beat the Maoris.
