Waipapakauri.
(From our own .Correspondent.) The new Native School was opened on Monday, 21st May. The occasion was celebrated by a picnic, at which there was a big attendance of parents and children. The day was fine, and eyerything passed off pleasantly—plenty to eat and drink, and presents for all the children. We expect‘Mr. Nod Evans and his father back next week. The plant for Mr. W. Hagger.’s flax mill came to hand per last Greyhound. Mr. Geo. Sulenta (of Sulenta Bros.) has been laid up, but is about again. I beleive they intend to start their mill in July. All Mr. Frank Trigg’s friends here are sorry that he should-have got “ knocked out ”at the opening of the season. lie is one of the best of the Houhora footballers and very popular. The basket social to be held at Waipapakauri on the Bth June promises to be a huge success. Given fine weather we expect to see many visitors present from surrounding localities. May 26, 1906.
