BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTORAL DISTRICT. Notice of Polling-Day. IN pursuance of " The Electoral Act, 1905,” I, VERNON HERBERT REED, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Bay of Islands, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 22nd day of November, 1905, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as member for the said district; and that the latest day for receiving nominations of candidates will be the 28th day of November, 1905; and that tho poll, if necessary, will be taken at the several polling-places of the said district on the sixth day of December, 1905. Every man desirous of becomiug a candidate must be nominated by not l» s« than two electors of the district, bv a nomination-paper as prescribed by section 97 of the said Act, delivered to the Returning Officer on or b*-ior# the 28th day of November, 1905. And I do hereby give further notice that simultaneously with the taking of the above Electoral Poll on the said 6th day of Deccmlx*r, 1905, and at the said several Polling Places, a “LICENSING POLL” of thr- Electors of the said District will be taken in pursuance of the said Act and of “ The Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Act Amendment Act, 1905,” upon the following Proposals 1. Whether the number of Licenses existing in the district is to continue. 2. Whether the number of Licenses existing iu the district is tube reduced. 3. FJBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that I will, on the Ist day of December, 1905, at the hour of 11 in the forenoon, at my office, Kawakawa, publicly consider all the nomination papers duly lodged with me under the provisions of the Licensing tion Act, 1899, and after bearing all objections thereto select therefrom two fit persons to appoint one scrutineer, and two fit persons to appoint the other scrutineer to act at each ballot-box in the respective interests of thoso Electors who are in favour of the proposal that no Licenses be granted in the District, and those Electors who are NOT in favour of the! proposal that no License* be granted in the District.
