Applications, accompanied with a eertiflcale of competency from tho Inspector of Schools, Nelson, to be sent to the undersigned. J. D. Bbace, Chairman Local Committee of Education. Collingwood, April 14. 622 Wscellaiwottk W. V. WRIGHT AND CO.'S PURE COAL-TAE SOAP, BEGISTEBED AS SAPO CARBONIS DETERGENS. This Soap is compounded from our " LIQUOR CARBONIS DETERGENS," which, according to the testimony of the leading Medical journals, is unrivalled for its Detergent and Antiseptic qualities, besides being an almost infallible specific for Indolent Ulcers, Wounds, Sores, and Affections of the Skin generally. All the active principles of Coal Tar, including that powerful disinfectant, Carbolic Acid, oi-e contained in the " Liquor," and are developed in the Sonp in a miltlcr form. W. V. Wbigiit and Co.'s PURE COAL-T.4R SOAP is a material security against infections diseases of every sort, and moderates the eluuvia of house-drains. This effect is produced by the water being thrown into them in which the soap has been used for washing. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP improves the general condition of the Bkin, which becomes soft aud silky, and, after washing, there is a conscious sensation of a most agreeable and refreshing character. The face assumes a clear and healthy appearance ; there is no liability to chilblains or chapped hands; and offensive emanations from the person (if there be any) aro quickly removed. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP prevents the hnir from turning prematurely grey. All ordinary soaps destroy the colour of the hiiir more or less ; but the Sapo Carhonis Detergens docs not produce this effect, partly because it contains a very small proportion of alkali, and partly because of the peculiar nature of the alkali, and the special form and combination in which it exists. W. V. Weight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP, from the small quantity of alkali which it contains, as well as from the compression to which it is subjected, does not soften or wasto in water like other soaps, and will be, therefore, found most economical in use. W. V. Wbigiit and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP is a specific against the bite of reptiles, the sting of insects, &c, &c, and is an invaluable article in hot climates. W. V. Wbight and Co.'s PURE COAL-TAR SOAP is most highly spoken of by the Press. The following is from the Lancet, December 22, 1866 : — " In our hands it has been a most effective agent in tho case of various skin diseases, especially of the chronic eczernotous class ; and one case of psoriasis, which had resisted all other kinds of treatment, speedily got well under the application of the liquor carhonis detergens. We esteem it a very valuable addition to our list of skin remedies, and worthy of n very extended trial by the profession. In the above classes of disease, and in various others, such as foetid ulcers, &c, the preparation is put into tho form of soap. Messrs. W. V. Wright and Co., London, aye the manufactirrers."
