WORST JAM IN HISTORY
CHRISTMAS TRAFFIC IN U.S. (Rec. 11.5 a m.) New York, Dec. 23 The worst traffic jam in United States history developed yesterday as servicemen and civilians surged into trains, buses and planes. Chicago railway authorities said 15.000 long-distance travellers could not be carried. San Francisco authorities reported that about 168.000 soldiers from the Pacific could not be transported home for Christmas.
