MINERAL SURVEY
MR SKINNER’S SUPPORT A request to the Acting-Minister of Mines (Mr J. O’Brien) that a survey be made of the mineral resources of the northern end of the South Island, with special reference to the Golden Bay coal, and that a resident geologist be stationed in Nelson was made by the recent annual meeting of the Nel-son-Marlborough-West-Coast League of Local Bodies. A copy of the letter containing the request was also sent to Mr C. F. Skinner, Minister of Rehabilitation and member for Motueka. "Knowing the position as I do. I shall have pleasure in supporting your organisation’s proposals and will accordingly confer with my colleague (Mr O Brien) in this matter at my earliest opportunity,” states M r Skinner in his reply to the league;
