FRENCH CONSULTATIVE ASSEMBLY Paris, Aug. 3. The Assembly was dissolved to-day, 21 'months after it was created at Algiers to advise General, de Gaulle’s Provisional Government. One of its last acts before the dissolution was to vote overwhelmingly in favour of the proportional representation system by which the French people will elect the new parliament in October.

Reutei’s Paris correspondent says it is estimated that the future assembly will be made up of 66 members on the basis of one for every 30.000 voters! The Government is not bound to accept the Consultative Assembly’s recommendations, but General de Gaulle previously indicated that he would abide by their decision.

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Consultative Assembly a resolution demanding that the French Government break diplomatic relations with Franco Spain.
