CONTROL OF GRASS-GRUB

DR. DAVID MILLER TO VISIT AUSTRALIA Sir Theodore Rigg. Director of the Cawthron Institute, Nelson, stated yesterday that, in response to a request from the Plajit Bureau of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Cawthron Trust Board had agreed to release Dr. David Miller for a period of six weeks in order to study the grass-grub problem in Australia and to report on the possibility of securing from that country parasites which would give some control over New Zealand grass-grubs. Dr. Miller expects to spend about six weeks in Australia and will visit centres of entomological work in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart. On his return from Australia it is hoped to initiate a comprehensive programme for the study and control of grass-grub in New Zealand.
