Mr H. Pitts-Brown, of Stoke, has been elected chairman of the Nelson Electorate Executive of the N.Z. National Party.
Warrant Officer M. M. Stewart who was farming near Takaka before enlisting in the N.Z.R.A.F, has seen much of Iceland for many months whilst flying in a Liberator on Coastal Command duties, gnd estimates he has flown over 600,000 miles of ocean which included the Bahama Islands and Atlantic ferry. While in Takaka he was keenly interested in cricket but more recently, as opportunity offered he has enjoyed skiing and skating. He is well and looking forward to his return to New Zealand in due course.
Corporal G. E. James, son of Mrs E. James, Motueka, who has been a prisoner of war in Germany for 3£ years, is now safe in England and has advised his family that he is in hospital there for a brief period.
