MR C. E .G. BEATSON EXPLAINS

STATEMENT AT TOWN BOARD MEETING In a statement of explanation yesterday about the discussion over the Nelson milk supply, which took place at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Tahunanui Town Board, Mr C. E. G. Beatson” said that the minimum standard of 3.25 per cent, of butterfat could not be classed as a rich sample of milk. I His remarks were meant as no reflection on the standard of milk which the Nelson consumers were getting at present. He knew, however, that the minimum „ Government standard was kept low so that it could be maintained or bettered throughout the year. The spring flush was the difficult time. The people of Nelson were probably getting as good milk as those elsewhere and it was certainly very clean.
