NEARING SPEZIA
TROOPS OF FIFTH ARMY GREAT ITALIAN NAVAL BASE (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) London, April 9 The new Fifth Army advance to within two miles of Massa at the western end of the Italian front has brought American Negro and Japanese troops under 19 miles from the great naval base at Spczia, reports Reuter’s Rom© correspondent. Fifth Army troops advancing from the south against scattered resistance are also outflanking the town with an encircling move westward.
