GERMAN LOSSES
500,000 IN TEN DAYS OFFICIAL ESTIMATE GIVEN (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) London, Apl. 9. It is officially estimated that the Germans lost 500,000 men in killed wounded or captured in the west in the past ten days or a daily average of 50,000, says the Associated Press of Great Britain correspondent at Twelfth Army Group Headquarters. Ab°ut nine-tenths of the total were prisoners. The four armies under General Bradley captured about 37,600 yesterday. The Ruhr pocket has already yielded 16,340. London, April 9. Agency correspondents state that the Allies in the first six days of April took prisoner 189.611. which plus an estimated 25,000 German dead, means a loss equivalent to 25 divisions in under a week. The Allies on Saturday took 39.662 prisoners, states a communique from Supreme Headquarters. American First Army infantry advancing 11-miles against no opposition reached and cleared Gottingen. Later they pushed on a fLirther two miles eastward. They to-day took prisoner 15,000 German wounded found in hospitals.
