VISCOUNT NUFFIELD
ADVICE TO AUSTRALIA Perth, Mar. 26. Asked about the possibilities of an Australian car, Viscount Nuffield, British motor magnate and philanthropist, interviewed before his departure, questioned the economic prospects. He thought that Australian enterprise v/ould be better occupied making agricultural tractors.
The abundance of food, bright lights, the war effort of Australian factories and the hospitality of the Australian people were some of his main impressions after three months in Australia, he said. Viscount Nuffield is now returning to England. Australia’s war effort, he considered, was “astonishing.” In this he did not overlook the “splendid show” given by Australia’s servicemen.
